WHY CHOOSE ALAN’S BOOKS Alan’s skill is in being able to deliver information in a simple easy-to-understand manner by use of analogies and the readers imagination.
If you read his books and imagine you know absolutely nothing about first aid, you will see how his skill shines. Alan connects with the reader on a very basic level making learning first aid so simple and enjoyable for everybody.
Alan’s style stimulates both the readers imagination and links that imagination to logic. For example, most people can relate to a ‘puncture’ and ‘mending a puncture’ and can have this image in their mind. He links this analogy to control of bleeding and thus creates an image whereby the reader learns and more importantly remembers the skill.
Currently over 600 first aid training organisations, ambulance services and colleges approved by the H.S.E., and thousands of individuals world-wide have or are still using his books.
ALAN’S BACKGROUND Up to now Alan has produced five books/ booklets in response to demand in both content and cost. His latest one, for paediatric first aid, was published in late August 2004 and is used nationwide on the now well publicised 12-hour paediatric first aid course. Alan's background in training started in the 1980s where he was responsible for developing training courses for the cabin service section of British Airways. |
